I had self excluded myself from Powbet a few months back. I created a new account with Greatwin who are I believe sister websites under the same license.


I am just wondering have I a case to take up with Greatwin in regards to been able to set up an account when I have self excluded from their sister site? Can I raise a request for return of deposits?

Generally speaking, casinos don't refund players when they self-exclude in a sister casino and then they start playing elsewhere. It's also necessary to distinguish between a standard self-exclusion for any reason except gambling issues and the self-exclusion due to gambling issues that are mentioned by the player to the casino staff. There are a few exceptions where the casino will self-exclude you in sister casinos as well:

  1. It's given by the licensing authority that the business owner musts track players within all of their brands and self-exclude the player within the entire brand if problem gambling is the reason for the initial self-exclusion.
  2. I've heard (and seen a case) where some casinos do that willingly, they also have it written in their terms and conditions that once a player self-excludes in one of their casinos, they'll automatically close all of their accounts and won't allow you to open a new one with the same credentials.

I believe the case no.2 is your only chance. If the casino's terms and conditions say that the self-exclusion will affect even their sister casinos, then you should be refunded. But it's rather a rare case when casinos have it written there.
