My Four-Legged Best Friend.
I was fostering him for a friend of mine's family (whose dog had 12 puppies!) near the end of October and living with my Mom (who has never been a pet person and already taking care of 2 cats; one of which was supposed to be my brothers' but...you know how that goes) who absolutely did NOT want another ani-mouth to feed. We all fell in love with him and my attachment was growing on a daily.
That Christmas Eve, we were hosting a little celebration and I was watching as my mom laughed and laughed, holding the puppy on her chest while he excitedly and playfully licked at her face. Without looking over she stopped and said "You want a puppy for Christmas, Shawna?"
8 years later, I couldn't imagine my life without him.
