POLL: What should happen with bonus money when you finish the wagering requirement?

We've been discussing the topic of cutting bonus winnings within CasinoGuru recently and we would like to know what the preferences are when it comes to you - the players.

By taking a closer look at our Complaints section, you'll find out players sometimes deal with one common issue. Let's look at the example:

Player X receives a bonus of 50 USD with 30x wagering requirement and plays with the bonus money. When he finishes the wagering requirement, he has the balance of 400 USD. Let's say the maximum allowed withdrawal from the bonus is 100 USD. 

The player X continues playing after the wagering is finished and wins even more. The current balance is 2 000 USD. The player X finally decides to make a withdrawal. Then the casino cuts all the winnings and leaves the player with 100 USD, because the bonus terms and conditions still apply until a withdrawal is made.

Another case is that whenever the player finishes the wagering requirement, the balance of 400 USD is immediately cut to the withdrawable amount of 100 USD and the player can continue playing without any restrictions or they can ask for a withdrawal.

So would you prefer to lose all your excessive bonus money immediately once you reach the wagering requirement and being left with only the withdrawable amount or would you prefer to keep all the bonus winnings and make this decision on your own by asking for a withdrawal and then having the balance reduced by the casino accordingly?

If I wanted to relax at the games for a while longer I would probably also be in favour of this option. Do you also do it to extend your gaming sessions ? 🙂

I like to choose myself. It would be nice if all Casinos would let the player know when they reached wagering requirements, or display on account page not only the total amount of money, but the amount that can be cashed out as well

I would prefer to lose all excessive bonus money immediately, because when I have already requested withdrawal, i think that is it mine and i don't need to waist time till withdrawal after wagering

This would be a good idea to implement, in such cases players could not be mistaken when they would see how much they can withdraw, alternatively when the bonus has been fulfilled. However, for many casinos it is probably quite an impossible task for now.

Thanks for your opinion. Obviously, in most cases I would like to have it that way too. If I wanted to extend my session and not take any risks, I would probably go for the second option. 😊

In Germany, its law. You want ä German licence its one of the things you have to provide. It's not impossible. I think some Casinos don't want to draw to much attention on the bonus requirements because players might read the bonus conditions more closely if they got something like a reminder to look at. And that Player might get into the habit of actually reading the bonus t&c is not something Casinos want to happen

Well, that's good to know that in Germany it's compulsory. But since it doesn't have to be elsewhere, casinos don't implement it very often. At least I haven't come across it frequently, but it would certainly be great if as many casinos as possible had it.  🙂

I believe we are trying to decide which scenario feels more intuitive to players. I'd say both are quite opposite to each other, wouldn't you agree?🤔

That's usually the main problem. Players finish the wagering, they see a big amount of money on their account and they carry on playing to win even more. Then it's a very unpleasant surprise when all the winnings are voided and they're only left with the max. cashout amount from the bonus.

I actually like the fact it's quite clear especially with the little description for each category. It seems like almost the first good thing that comes with the regulation and it's actually helpful for the German players, not the opposite...
