Good question. Now, I'm probably going to surprise you: the actual list looks the same!
A year or so back, I hoped to start posting the most favorite games regularly on our social media. Do you know what I found?
The results for a monthly chart barely change, and the tops are always the same. Small changes can be found based on the country of residence. Check it out in the "Most popular slots" tab in the Free Games section, a good place to start:

Woah, the top 5 are still the same under recommended list! One thing I noticed ,though, is that if I changed the list to Highest RTP, none of the top 5 Recommended slots are there. I guess, for others, slots with high RTP is not just reason to play there.

I'd say, it depends. Mathematically the highest RTP goes to Black Jack. 🙂
But I know what you think. As far as I can see, those slots are quite old - have you noticed?

If you look at a site like SlotCatalog, they screen scrape several hundred casinos in each country for the most popular slots. Then you can go to the best online slots, and it will show you the most promoted slots in each country. These will most likely also be the most played since casinos promote what players like. For example in the UK the top 5 games are:
Big Bass Bonanza
Starburst
Big Bass Splash
Bonanza
Big Bass Amazon Xtreme

Cool, just a Big Bass display. I have never come to like this kind very well...
