German player: €250,000 confiscated after licensed online casino winnings – looking for similar case

I am posting anonymously because I am involved in an ongoing legal matter in Germany.

Back in 2019, German authorities confiscated approximately €250,000 that originated from winnings at a licensed online casino operating within the EU.

I am not looking for legal representation here and I am not asking anyone for money.

I am trying to find people who have experienced something similar, know of comparable cases, or have contacts to lawyers, journalists, researchers, or organizations familiar with gambling law and cross-border EU gambling issues.

Over the years I have learned that my case may involve questions regarding EU law, online gambling regulation, confiscation of gambling proceeds, and the treatment of players.

Has anyone here ever heard of similar cases where gambling winnings were confiscated by authorities, or where players later managed to recover some or all of the money?

Have you already requested your full betting history, transaction logs, and the exact clause they used to justify confiscating the €250,000? I've seen several cases where casinos cited bonus abuse, wagering violations, or KYC issues, but the outcome often depended on whether the player could obtain detailed records and challenge the casino's interpretation of the terms. It may also be worth filing a complaint with the regulator that licensed the casino if you haven't done so already.
