I'd prepare for the worst outcome, does seem they look at the banks end of things rather than the whole issue, i'd gear your case with that in mind, any inconsistencies or anything you find negligent i'd attack those points. I don't blame the FOS to be honest though as it is a grey area, i've sent a few emails back and will see how they reply but i can't see them reversing their decision unfortunately. Hopefully you have more luck than i do.
Don't get how the bank is in the right though as they rejected my appeal in 50 minutes despite me sending an abundance of evidence.
I feel for you mate I am not bothered if I win it to be honest as I have already got a lot more back than I lost but it would be great to win it ! will give it a pop anyway I think they do support some of the extreme cases the bank not raising them is shocking to be honest as it does not hurt them its just jobs worths at the banks causing it standing in your way
It's disappointing but in a round about way relieving to have a conclusion to the whole thing, i'll see how they reply to my emails but in my mind, it's done now and a positive side effect is i now associate gambling with stress and other negative things so it's probably done me a huge favor long term.
See to be honest bud getting the money back helps a lot but it is not the golden chalice people think it is I had a high when I got it back for a few days now it has died off and I am back to normal and still worried about it happening again but deffo feeling much stronger than before or at any other time as I have learned a valuable lesson from it and I have a follow up with gamcare in a few months as they are checking on me the good thing about getting the money back is that it means I am not in a lifetime of debt again now but even if used to pay it off I would still have £13000 to pay to get back to ground zero so its fools gold in a way but it does help the mental state it has with me you have a good platform to rebuild now and also this forum to help and support you when needed
It would have been a nice consolation to get it back but like you said, it isn't the be all and end all, it's sad we've all had to go through this but it's kind of helped us with our addiction issues in a way, i have faith that you won't relapse, i can see a difference in your posts from when you first signed up to now if that means anything, you've got this and stick with gamcare and sign up to anything that'll block casinos, try and ask your banks to put markers on your accounts in regards to gambling too. You'll repay that in due time, and when it's paid save towards a holiday as a celebration of getting past it all, always good to have something to look forward to! Appreciate the support too, if there's one thing that's helped me through all this stuff it's this forum, having the support of people and not feeling isolated and alone with this stuff has been a comfort, i'll continue to use the forum to see if i can help/support people the same way i've received help.
I would have hoped you would have and I appreciate the kind words and belief and the things you have observed I do feel much better and stronger the support on gamcare was a game changer the one on one talks from a really good qualified worker really did it for me this forum has been a big support and help and distraction for us all I'm sticking to it for strength etc it has gave me some purpose on here and seeing how people needed me to stay on was heartwarming you will be fine now mate just keep away from them now and rebuild your plans and future I am going to pay off my personal loans about £5500 then work on paying off the £23000 loan on the house might just get a big personal loan and pay it off then its easier to manage and my home is safe and it can be paid off in 4 years instead of 15 years I have a plan in my head
Hi Dt100, got this reply from Bytebloom.
We hope this email finds you well.
We have reviewed the information based on the details you previously provided but did not find anything on our side.
If you consider these transactions fraudulent, we recommend contacting your bank to initiate a chargeback procedure, as they should be able to assist you with it.
It says Bytenews on my transactions.
Is there anything more that can be done or is it just to give up?
Glad to hear it, stick with the support for sure, sounds like you've got a solid plan and path forward, going to come up with a pathway forward myself, as for gambling i've set up blocks on my bank accounts and was already signed up to GamStop, i will be renewing that when it expires and have informed my banks to block any gambling transactions. Won't be tempted to relapse either as this experience has shown these offshore casinos if you can call them that are sketchy at the best of times, and most are outright scam merchants. I think i speak for a lot of people when i say you've been a great help, sincerely hope all of us don't relapse as this kind of situation can be really stressful, just glad it's all done with now to be honest.
Definitely more equipped, they have the a clause in there ToS that covers this kind of thing, think i'll stick with Visa only from this point onward, it's made me lose confidence in mastercard, as i now feel they're unequipped for certain scenarios.
Yes get all the blocks in place I signed up for another 5 years about 14 months ago then turned to these sites plus as soon as I make these transactions my bank gambling adviser picks up on it so I just do not do it also get rid of all the credit lines and cards just keep one good card I have one with my bank thanks for the feedback as well !
I also find if going goods not received then you need to be proactive and go after these merchants with GDPR requests, accuse them of fraud make them fearful that if they do make up a story that you received items that they will be admitting fraud etc
